Uganda is a small, beautiful country that borders the shores
of Lake Victoria in East Africa.
rich in tradition and culture, Uganda's economic reality, coupled with the
devastating AIDS epidemic, has left many of her people desperately poor.
In a country of 24 million, 2 million
people are infected with HIV/AIDS.
while Uganda can boast of having implemented an effective AIDS prevention
campaign that has sharply curbed infection, it is still the country with the
highest number of AIDS orphans in the world.
Many children in Uganda no longer have parents.
